Ted D. Bear

Due to COVID-19, Ted D. Bear will not make personal appearances for the present time-being.
The agency's mascot, Ted D. Bear, is also available to bring the message that child abuse is unbearable to the community. To schedule a Ted D. Bear appearance, call (614) 275-2780 or email. Please allow two to three weeks notice.

Franklin County Children Services also offers a coloring and activity book featuring Ted D. Bear. This book is a fun way to teach children how to stay safe.

Mandated Reporters

FCCS offers training for professionals who are mandated to report abuse or neglect at its 855 W. Mound St. office each quarter. Some professionals are mandated by law to report child abuse and neglect. These mandated reporters include teachers, daycare staff, social workers, school personnel, physicians, dentists, nurses, psychologists, coroners, and attorneys.

The two-hour virtual training, which is held via Microsoft Teams, covers how to make a referral, what will happen after the referral is made, and what services are available to children and families. Training certificates of completion (no licensure) will be provided to those who attend the entire session.
