Franklin County Children Services coordinates many campaigns and events to spread the word about protecting children by strengthening families. In many of these, we collaborate with community partners to make a difference in the lives of all children. Children Services works with corporations, businesses, organizations, and individuals in an effort to prevent child abuse and neglect and to provide opportunities for children.
Franklin County Children Services hosts various events during the month of March to honor those who make a difference in the lives of thousands of children and families.
April is a time to raise awareness about child abuse. If you suspect a child is being abused, call the FCCS 24-Hour Child Abuse Hotline at (614) 229-7000. FCCS participates in several events during this month to educate the public about child abuse prevention, including Wear Blue Day.
This annual event highlights child abuse prevention and the accomplishments of social work professionals, client families, youth, and community advocates. Also, college scholarships are awarded to agency youth.

Each August Franklin County Children Services presents FamJam - A Family Enrichment Festival. The event features fun activities, refreshments and entertainment from local acts. Families have lots of opportunities for education and fun during this day-long, kid-friendly festival. Vendors and community partners host resource booths, where families can find helpful information. Many offer games, free give-aways and activities. In addition, representatives from local agencies and safety forces are on hand to interact with the crowd. Franklin County Children Services staff provide parenting resources, as well as information about adoption and volunteer programs. The event is free and open to the public.
National Family Week is a celebration held in November that embraces the premise that children's lives are better when their families are strong. In addition to honoring families, community leaders also receive special recognition for their advocacy and support of families at a celebration reception.
November is National Adoption Month which highlights the need for more families to welcome adoptable children into their homes.
National Adoption Day is celebrated across the country as an occasion for recognizing and promoting the need for adoptive families. The adoptions of several children are finalized on this date, thanks to the volunteer efforts of lawyers, foster care and adoption professionals, child advocates and local judges. FCCS marks the occasion with a celebration for the adoptees and their families.
