Adopting a child through Franklin County Children Services can be a rewarding and heartfelt, lifelong experience, both for the adopted child and for the adopting parent.
Adoption today is quite different from years past. Family structures have changed to include divorced parents, single parents, and LGBTQIA+ individuals and families.
Franklin County Children Services seeks families or single adults from all backgrounds who are willing to love and share their homes with waiting children. Click here to search for an adoptable child

Franklin County Children Services is pleased to have implemented Wendy’s Wonderful Kids, a signature program of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption that is bringing children waiting to be adopted from foster care one step closer to safe, loving and permanent homes. Through Wendy’s Wonderful Kids, the Foundation provides grants to adoption agencies to hire and train adoption recruiters who implement the Foundation’s evidence-based, child-focused recruitment model. This model is up to three times more effective at serving children who have been in foster care the longest, including older youth, sibling groups and children with special needs. Franklin County Children Services currently has six Wendy’s Wonderful Kids recruiters who primarily serve Franklin County. Our recruiters work with smaller caseloads, ensuring that they can provide these children with the attention, resources and support they need and find the adoptive families they deserve.

FCCS works with several agencies that provide foster care services. Please visit our Foster Care page for a list of the agencies with whom we work that may provide foster to adopt programs and training. FCCS does not offer foster care adoption training directly.
